One of the best things on doing what we do is meeting people. At this last wedding receptiion we had here at @[100000489454793:Joy Haven] I noticed something, A Cross on the cake and by the guest book. Well, the mother of the Bride came in today to pickup the remaining items from last night. Me,(ken), being polictically correct asked, What's with the Cross????? and this is what I was told.
Years before the brides mom was taking food out to the field with the children, I believe 3, and the mom was driving the 3/4 ton pickup pregrent with #4. This is common with country living and those meals on the field are the best. Well as she was driving down the country road she drove unto a washboard surface and lost control. The children were not buckled in which normally are. The end result was a child who was three did not survive the roll over.
So as a reminder and remembrance to this person who I do not know the name they placed a cross whenever possible.
When I heard her story I reminded her that the time we are here is not a factor but the impact we have while we are here does. So I reminded her that whenever you have a chance to talk to someone because of what you see, such as a child not buckled in, speak on behalf of that child. Things happen for a reason and for that reason we are here.
